Legless Korean Waif Joins Citizenry At Boys Town in Cowboy Hat, Jeans

 
BOYS TOWN, Neb., May 27 (UP)-Song Yong Cho, Korean war orphan who lost both feet during the battle for Seoul three years ago, became a citizen of Boys Town today.
 
Sporting a cowboy hat and jeans, the ll-year-old alighted from a plane at Omaha' municipal airport last night accompanied by Msgr. Nicholas Wegener, director of Boys Town. The orphan had no comment after his flight from Seattle, Wash.
 
SONG LOST BOTH of his feet due to frostbite in the winter of 1950. His know relatives were either captured or killed by Red troops.
 
His feet were amputated and he was sent to a refugee camp in the Korean capital where he made his own living. Sliding along on his buttocks, he shined shoes for American servicemen.
 
American troops and civilians stationed at Pusan contributed money to pay the boy's expenses for the trip to his new home here.
